August 2021 - "Duke's Head now reopened (3 weeks now) … decked out like a honky tonk bar … new tenants … only been open 3 weeks … haven’t yet got a website / phone / social media … apart from an Instagram account thedukesofhighgate… beer list said they have 4 real ales on cask… only two were available when I was there today … Adnams Ghost Ship and one called Dukes Tub brewed for them by an (unknown) brewer … beers both seemed in good condition"
NOTE 2020 update - the operators who took this pub into the Good Beer Guide have departed. Pub is logged as closed until the owner finds new tenants.
Former coaching inn with courtyard. In 2013, after a refurbishment, re-opened as a specialist beer house offering a large range of real ale, ciders and craft keg. Usually one mild, one porter/stout, a pale and a best bitter listed on a chalk board behind the bar. Joined CAMRA's LocAle scheme in Sept 2014. CAMRA North London Pub of the Season Autumn 2014.
