Each year, Estrella Damm issues a list of what judges think are the best 50 pubs in the country. Although having been in this list every year since 2016, in 2026, the Red Lion & Sun rose through the rankings to take third place with the overall top place going to another London pub, the Devonshire, in Soho.

The Red Lion & Sun is a Greene King owned, Grade II listed building, which has been altered over the years but retains outside areas at both the front and back of the pub and cosy fires. Despite the pub’s emphasis on food and wine, it does stock one cask beer, often Timothy Tayor’s Landlord.
