Lockdown Hero Award Alpaca

It is a friendly, neighbourhood pub - and a real focal point for the local community

During lockdown we all suffered ... and some pubs and outlets, like the Alpaca rose to the challenge, as it was essential in providing an outlet for takeaways for real ale enthusiasts, in a time when real ale was scarce and good quality real ale even scarcer

The Alpaca provided take-away real ale at reasonable prices and was able to use their initiative to source this from various different suppliers (such as the Goodness Brewery in Wood Green amongst others)

They kept the flag flying with regards real ale and were very flexible about collection times during the pandemic

The Lockdown Hero award is given to those that have gone above and beyond with their efforts for the local community and to help others in a time of lockdown.

The recipient of these prestigious awards is nominated and voted for by our CAMRA branch members, who recognise the champions who rose to the challenge ... and we really appreciate all their efforts to keep real ale alive and available for the local community

Well done to Lucas Owen and his team at the Alpaca for winning the CAMRA NL Branch Lockdown Local Hero award for all your services to the community during lockdown ... much appreciated!

Lucas Owen with their well deserved Award.

To the Alpaca ... may you live long, survive and thrive - cheers!

The award was presented to Lucas and Lola Owen by Colin Coyne, Chairman of CAMRA North London Branch.
